Still not getting in mn.general after subscribing and unsubscribing several
times. Although this is a low traffic newsgroup we probably should not be
posting off topic like this.

Is there some way of contacting Comcast or Giganews via email about this

Ha, I have a ticket number and am on the phone now to Comcast. They say
it's been resolved as of 8:52 this morning. I told him NO, it has not.
I'm waiting until he returns. Stay tuned AnnE

Still on the phone, that Comcast guy is really trying to figure out this
situation.

He did state that I would have a new ticket number but then
said, "Wait, I need to check with my supervisor on something".

Comcast gave me a ticket number. Actually, I have a new one. Was on
the phone with a very nice guy from Comcast and after an hour he finally
was able to give me a new ticket number. These little gems are like
tracking numbers so that you can get some resolve with problems.

There is a problem, that's for sure. I've Sub/Unsubed so many times my
fingers hurt. lol

Some times I get all the posts and then most of the other times I get
only those silly 3 Blackberry8800 ones.

I'd be in luck since we have those 3 postings to help me out.

I have seen it in other places, too. For example, the comp.sys.mac
groups all seem to be this way. I also read a number of misc.*
groups, and they all seem OK.

I just subscribed to that group and the first message is 3/15. Strange
as I'm sure there are more. Too lazy to go other groups online to check
it out. It's April 1st and I don't do a lot online on a day like today.

Thanks for the info as I have a new ticket number from Comcast trying to
figure out this problem.

Well, I tried an unsubscribe and resubscribe again about 7:15, and all
of the sudden things look good with mn.general. I am still checking
other groups. I had done this a dozen times in the 24 hours, and
this time it worked.

Well, I spoke too soon. I got it to work once. Then I closed
my USENET reader, and opened it back up. mn.general only counted
48262 unread messages, whereas my .newrc has messages in the
172000 range. My client is not finding those articles. In fact,
the display on my news client is limited to 5 digits, not the 6
digits that the new system appears to be using. At this point, I
agree that it is an issue specific to my news client, but then again,
the client should be following the same standard that the news
server software follows.

Anyone know of a Mac OS/X newsreader that does work with 6 digit
article numbers?
