For sale western side of Minneapolis metro area - Glastron Sportster
15' boat (measured nose to tail) and trailer with Sea Horse Javelin 85
outboard motor.

This boat and trailer have been pretty much unused and neglected for
the past several years. I acquired it last year as a project when I
thought I would be having a lot more free time than it turns out I am
having.

Since I acquired it I have put on new tires and wheels, partially
rewired the trailer wiring, and acquired new lights to finish that
work. I had planned to replace the wood flooring and seats, and then
get the boat back in the water, but it appears I'm going to be busy
with other projects for the forseeable future and would prefer to see
someone else take this project over and finish it.

Comes with two gas tanks, anchor, and whatever miscellaneous items are
sitting in the boat.

Printed on the motor housing is: mag flash cd - whatever that means...

If you are handy with projects like this you can end up with a nice
boat and trailer at a bargain price!

$500 takes it, as it sits.

hi Greg

stupid question here from me... but here goes

have you bothered to take this boat to a shop and get an estimate of
what it will cost to repair?

I think more people would be interested in your item if they knew the
cost to get up and running with a working boat. A smaller number would
be willing or able to take on the project themselves.

Hi Ed...

No, I've not taken it to a shop. I piked it up intending it as a
project I was going to do myself, and checked into the cost of the
parts I expected to need. They were very inexpensive. Labor, of
course, if having someone else do it is likely to be much less
expensive. That's why I looked at it as a do it myself project.

The folks that have expressed interest so far all have the intent of
doing the same. It's going to need the plywood flooring replaced,
which means new carpet too. It will also need new seat cushions of
some form. I suspect eventually the new owner will also want to
purchase a canvas cover for it for storage. Other than that, I don't
know of any other items that it definitely will need.

One guy who is interested says he figures to put about $200 into the
parts he will need to get it going. He has a "connection" for getting
the cushions, so he'll be into it cheap if he decides to take the
project on. He thinks he could have it ready with a good weekends
work. He's presently trying to sell of something of his to be able to
afford the new toy... We'll see what happens - I tend to doubt he
will get what he wants for the toy he is working to sell.

I've had an offer for just the motor and trailer for the asking price.
If someone wants to have the boat for free, they can have it and I'll
accept the offer on the motor and trailer. That buyer has a good boat
with no motor and a very beat trailer, so he's looking to complete his
project...

Oh, and if someone wants to have a shop look it over, arrangements can
probably be made.... I'd do it myself, but I'm so backlogged with
other priorities that it will be fall before I get to it on my own.
